“An empowering birth experience is not necessarily about the type of labour a woman has. It is about the woman’s sense of power and her ability to make decisions about what happens to her”

Dr Rachel Reed

I'm Jess, a Bristol based doula, aromatherapist, birth trauma resolution practitioner and hypnobirthing instructor

I'm an experienced doula, passionate about supporting people through the transitions of pregnancy, birth and motherhood. â€‹â€‹Being pregnant is an extraordinary time in someone's life and my job is to look after you, help you prepare for birth and parenthood, to advocate for you and to use what I know to ensure you feel positive and empowered during your birth experience, however it unfolds. I'm comfortable and confident supporting birth in all settings, my priority is making sure you know all your options, that you receive individualised care and feel safe.

I come from a compassionate place, I want to share everything I know about pregnancy and birth and create safe, comfortable spaces where people can absorb it and question it. To learn decision making tools, understand their bodies and feel excited to give birth

Jess is without doubt one of the most special people and spectacular doulas on the planet. There is absolutely no doubt that I’d have gone into hospital during my labour if Jess hadn’t been with me at home. She supported me, empowered me, reassured me, cared for me and championed me through every waking minute of my labour which ultimately led me to birth my baby at home in the pool as I’d so desperately hoped for. I just don’t have enough words to explain how instrumental Jess has been to my whole experience as a new Mum. From the pre-birth guidance to birth support and postpartum care, I could not have wished for a more incredible woman to have supported me. One day I will tell my daughter all about “angel Jess” and how her name came to be. She’ll carry a piece of Jess with her forever, what a lucky baby.
